According to my research, this highway was constructed halfway then supposedly abandoned after the start of the project in 1970. Then somehow it continued recently because it is now changed to a pedestrian walkway.
I knew about this through my mum... AND THEN I REALISED. KARD WAS DANCING HERE FOR THEIR RUMOUR MUSIC VIDEO. Coz the place looked too familiar.
Check out KARD's song btw. :>
To get here... go to Exit 8 and you will soon see this escalator...
Or if you leave via exit 2 (on the Lotte Mart/Seoul Station Side), you will spot this spiral staircase to go up
Here are some maps to help you.... I hope
There is nothing much here except some flowers... a lot of which are not in bloom :(( But I must say this is quite a good initiative coz it is now a lot easier to walk between the exits of Seoul Station rather than walking underground.
Photo dump!
There was this interesting part on the ground where you could see the road and all, even the layers of material used to build it
As I was leaning down to take a picture of this, some businessman went up behind me and tried to scare me. While I was a bit shocked, I controlled my reaction and just stood up to glare at him. I almost horse kicked him -_- Funny ah? Won't be funny if I really kicked you and injured you. I will just say it was an act of automatism.
It was nice to visit la! But a bit too hot.... coz all concrete. So please come at night! I think the night view will be really pretty. Day time is quite normal.
We then headed to Lotte Mart and Lotte Outlet to shop.
As you may have already read about my seoul tips on how much stuff ought to cost.
but once again.... IF YOU CAN FIND IT IN YOUR HOME COUNTRY AND IT ONLY COST A LITTLE BIT MORE (LIKE 50 CENTS) PLEASE LA SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE.
Seaweed, honey butter chips, all these can buy in SG :/
Buy things of higher value la... or at least things that are REALLY much more affordable here than in SG (like skincare/cosmetics)
If it matters to you, alcohol is cheap here too BUT can you please research what alcohol you are drinking first? Some of these can really knock you out (according to locals) so please don't anyhow.
For lotte outlet... there was like Zara and some other stores but to me it is just like an Isetan or smth.... Hmm. If you are interested there are expensive clothes here? haha
This oddly placed mannequin blocks the path -_-
Oh hello Park Bo Gum
Hungry humans were now looking for food so we went to this restaurant selling soups within Seoul Station itself (on the floor with all the KTX rails etc)
I got the ox bone soup (Seollo Tang) and mum got the Dol Sot Bibimbap.
As you can see from the price it is quite expensive wor, but nvm we desperate for food at the time le.
So we headed home to dump our goods and then went to Hapjeong Station to find Bau Haus Dog Cafe
Address: 서울특별시 마포구 서교동 394-44 제일빌딩 후면 1층
Opening Hours: 1.30pm to 11pm on weekdays, 12.30pm to 11pm on weekends (10.30pm start to close)
Look out for this building and all the signs!
And you will walk down a slope to eventually see the dog cafe on your right. This below is the entrance to the cafe!
There is no entrance fee but every patron is expected to pay for a drink (which is quite tiny imo) that costs about 7,500 to 8,500 won.
BUT WORTH IT. FOR THE DOGGIES. ALL IS WORTH IT
I was really happy to be here with all the dogs, who were gentle and honestly mostly sleeping at this timing of 3pm to 4.15pm.
Back to the dogs, only two of them were a bit overhyped... the black bulldog and one of the younger golden retrievers. It is a joy to be here, especially when this little girl was going around learning how to gently pat the dogs.
So sweet hor.
We could only stay here for a while. But mum's nose was starting to react to all the dog fur and we had to leave by 4.15pm to get to THE SHOW on time so sad is me :(
BUT KPOP CALLS. So read about Day 3 Part 2 here, on how we watched a live music show!
