Seoul 2017 Day 2 Part 2: Garosugil

Continuing where I left off from Day 2 Part 1 here, we left the Min's cafe to go to Garosugil!

Since I wasn't coming from the sinsa mrt, I originally wanted us to walk to Garosugil from The Min's.

BAD CHOICE. Coz it was almost a 2km walk, and I didn't want to tire us out as we had a very long day of walking. So I checked google maps and lo and behold, there were BUSES AVAILABLE YESH.

So we crossed the road and took a bus for about three stops which brought us to the back of garosugil. (No directions for this, but if you do follow this itinerary then please check out google maps, they were pretty accurate at least for this stretch of the journey!)

oddly... google maps records the street of Garosugil as 'Dosan-daero 13-gil'. Hmmmmmm. I had to use street view to check and confirm that this street did indeed had a lot of pine trees. The closest station is Sinsa Station, exiting from exit 8.

Garosugil is a place that is hyped by a lot of blogs and youtubers for being the 'Pine Tree' Street with a lot of hipster cafes. Honestly there is A LOT to see here but we didn't spend too much time here.

We wanted to eat here at the lobster shack but it was closed AND it looked like it was closed for a while (with dust and all). Soooo we had to find another lunch venue.

After walking around we settled for this place called The Gorgeous Kitchen. Tbh it is quite hard to find recommendations online for garosugil so we just wandered around and walked into whatever seemed attractive to us at the time.

Selling pasta and salad. The chicken salad was really good tbh! Maybe coz we craving veggies haha. Would I recommend it? Not really? Come here yourself and look around. A lot of things here aren't cheap tho.

The Gorgeous Kitchen was near Deux Cremes, which was an atas looking place that sells tarts.

We were honestly too full from our meal so when the staff asked us to buy two items to have a seat, I immediately said take-out and left with just one tart with mum.

8,800 won for the tart man. And imo it was not delicious AT ALL. Waste of my money man :( In fact the crust was so hard we could not even poke it with our plastic forks and ended up throwing it away.

Interesting things at Garosugil... like its trees having knitted material around its trunks lol

There is main garosugil street and these smaller paths

which sometimes leads to interesting places like this

There is also a LINE store here which was fun to visit. I personally found more things to see at this store and to take pictures of. Check out the top floor especially where there were a ton of characters in large human sizes to take pictures with. There was a LINE Cafe at the basement too but we were too full and... we thought the prices were a bit too steep for our liking.

We then managed to reach the front of Garosugil!

Shopping wise we did not actually buy much here.... except for this one store called 6ixty 8ight which had a lot of clothes at a discount. Other than that I do think this place is worth a visit, especially during autumn or spring where the trees would look amazingly pretty. Yet coming from a garden city like Singapore, it wasn't a main attraction for me.

Wish I had more time to visit this place, BUT I DID NOT CALL BTS CALLS in Day 2 Part 3!
