Busan - Seoul 2019 Day 3 Part 2: Hongdae - Line Store, Kakao Store, 7 Story Daiso, Kyochon Chicken

Just wanted to put it out there that my mum and I have a BORING itinerary coz... we have already been to Seoul four times before and we are visiting places that we know we are interested to visit.

First off, we needed food!

Place: 青年茶房 청년다방 홍대점
Location: 20 Yanghwa-ro 18an-gil, Seogyo-dong

This place was researched by my mum through some youtube videos and the korean food was amazing. Queue was long as well so unfortunately we had to brave the wait as well.

Do not blindly join the queue! Go in first, check with the staff and they will issue you a ticket. It was hard to tell because there were no signs and no queue number displays so we figured it out after having our queue cut by two couples -_-

The set is super worth it and this huge pot was more than enough for the two of us. Delicious!

There were many of these kind of earring shops in korea where they hang all of their earrings on a huge nail inside each designated square. Very aesthetically pleasing, though not the most affordable options out there. Many of these shops have a similar display but their prices can be very different.

Next up is everyone's favourite Line Friends Store.

There was a (very crowded) cafe at the basement with many huge posters and characters to take a picture with. Check out the regular Line characters and BT21 characters!

Also the tax refund machine.... REVEALED TO THE WHOLE WORLD MY PASSPORT DETAILS ON ITS BIG SCREEN HERRO EXCUSE ME PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION ACT WHERE YOU AT.

Sorry. Just take note, cover the screen when collecting your refund please! And do not carelessly discard your tax refund receipts, all the information is contained on it!!

And then we headed to Kakao Store. I know right. We are so predictable. Don't judge.

We headed straight for the cafe and ordered this rainbow cake and frappe. The cake was delicious ermaigosh. Light and fluffy rainbow cheese cake.

After this we spent a whopping whole hour at the 7 story daiso. TAKE ALL MY MONEY. Legit. I just love daiso. Writing this so much later, there are still daiso items that I have which are working very well, like the fake beauty blender sponge, my pouches and washi tape.

Had to take a rest after this, we were too tired. We headed out again at about 7pm to have dinner at...

Kyo Chon Chicken: 6 Yanghwa-ro 16-gil, Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea

This is a classic restaurant that we would always eat when we go to Korea. Truth to be told we regret ordering the soy version as we realise that it was the honey chicken that tasted better! Oh well...

We roamed the streets of Hongdae a bit longer before heading back. Shops usually close at 10pm, with people busking till about that time as well.

Hmm... after re-reading this post... we truly are very boring people. We love to revisit the same places, but it is also because they change up their store fronts and the items sold, so it really feels fresh each time we revisit Hongdae :)
