Busan - Seoul 2019 Day 4: CoEx Mall, Goto Mall, Shake Shack and Itaweon Line Friends

Today I had a last minute but super joyful meet up with my friend whom I met during her exchange to my university. Can't believe both of us were in Seoul at the exact same time!

We agreed to meet at

Starfield Coex Mall
513 Yeongdong-daero, Samseong 1(il)-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea

This was actually not part of my itinerary as we have already visited this place during our previous trip but we came here anyway on a Sunday.

Not recommended though, it was really crowded on the weekend and we struggled to find a lunch venue because there was just too many people everywhere :(

Eventually, we wandered all the way to the convention side and chose this random pizza pasta place called Califonia Kitchen with a 30-minute wait.

We ordered kale salad, potato soup, and a half half peperroni bbq pizza to share.

We chatted longer at a random cafe before we headed off to Gotomall.

Because Coex mall has two different subways depending on which part of the mall you were at, we went to the station called Bong Eun Station on the mustard coloured line towards the Express Bus Terminal Station.

To get to Goto mall, look carefully for Exit 8-1 of the Express Bus Terminal Station.

As always, there was a lot to see but mostly my style of clothes, my mum was quite bored unfortunately D: This is my favourite place to get cheap t-shirts for 5000 won or simple shirts for 10000 won.

A picture of the shirt I bought that I still like wearing today.

Shopping tip: Instead of taking the clothing and roaming around the store, just take a picture of it and then show the shopkeeper which pieces you want. She will usually pick from the shelf behind her and get you new pieces. It saves them the trouble of putting back the clothing as well.

Unfortunately, the trend was huge baggy clothing which made me look like a balloon so I was a bit disappointed. The range is also getting increasingly limited and not toward my liking. The thing I enjoy more is the purchasing of cheap accessories such as pretty earrings for 5000 won in comparison to the 10000 won ones in Hongdae. I don't see any of the locals bargaining btw so don't bother!

If you come here, be prepared as the amount of walking in this huge mall is no joke.

And Goto mall is but ONE PART of the express bus terminal area, there are many other areas to walk. Check out this youtube video for a good guide of this fully underground area.

For dinner we had Shake Shack within Express Bus Terminal.

And.
We.
Were.
So.
DISAPPOINTED.

nice meh?

Sigh.

Moving on, we headed to the Itaewon Line Friends Store, because this was the very store that BTS sat at to create the BT21 characters. AND it was open until 11pm! We took a cab here from Express Bus Terminal (which was really hard to flag a cab from.. we had to go to the hotel above and ask for help).

Location: 200 Itaewon-ro, Itaewon 1(il)-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul

Given how much my mum and I love BTS, this was completely worth the trip. Because we timed the trip so late on a Sunday night, it was COMPLETELY EMPTY except for a group of international students sitting at the same tables and chairs BTS sat.

The goods at this store is the same as any store, so the reason for coming here is really just these!
