Hungry souls went to taipei main station to look for food. There are quite a number of eateries there. Take note there are also stairs AND ESCALATORS THAT DON'T WORK so if you can..... leave your luggages at your hotel first.
We found a lot of Japanese food. Surprise surprise. But settled for this one corner where everything was beef noodles. We ordered 3 different kinds to share, but the meal was not affordable. If I recall correctly each bowl is at least 100-200 twd.
We headed to Ximending after that... it really does look a bit different from last time I came X_X
Top tip: DO NOT. BUY. STUFF. AT. THE. ENTRANCE. OF. XI. MEN. DING.
Live examples of comparisons.
Shoes mum wanted >>> 1,000 at entrance, 300 at 6 different stores inside
Mini lego blocks >>> 2 for 500 at entrance, 100 at the store below (before asking for discount!)
Quite like this shop selling the mini lego building blocks. They had everything from pokemon to sailormoon to starwars heh BUT NO SPACE. so no.
There was this corner of xi men ding where there were some food stalls together.
Ate the famous beef cubes (200 bucks) and garlic chicken (100 bucks) and some wasabi sotong (100 bucks) and that was more or less dinner! hehe.
Then again... the beef cubes don't eat so much ok. Stuff cooked by that kind of open flame... not so good for your health.
There were interesting things to see also along the street including performances and busking and this spray-paint artist.
There was also a One Piece store! All the merch too ex sorraye and I don't follow the OP series....
Ate the Ah Zong Mian Xian also.... AND IT SUCKS. I AM SORRY. BUT THIS IS THE WORST I ATE EVER. -_- not flavourful.... not yummy in anyway.... I cannot even describe how bad it is coz it is just bland.
Try it once, but no need to try it again. Meh
We came here again on the second last day of our trip soooo stay tuned!
(P.S I will also do a comparison of all the different 'night markets' in another post!)
Extra: Under Taipei Main Station is a couple of malls too.
We have NO CLUE what mall this was but just walked through it coz we were bored.
And tbh.... it was boring. If I were to liken it to a place in Singapore it would actually be one of our chinatown shopping malls kind. Like Pearl Center?
Really... nothing one haha
