Paris-London 2018 Day 5 Part 2: Walking about Convent Garden... on a Sunday

Due to... poor planning, we knew we were in for trouble when we arrived about 3pm ish to our hotel because shops closed at 6pm on Sunday.
Even worse, we somehow managed to also come during a period where the next day, monday was a bank holiday leaving a few places to be... closed.
And that meant very little time for London.

Ah well. -_-

Planning for this leg was a huge headache because I could not accurately predict what would remain open and what would be closed because google maps is not always updated.

So anyway we got to our hotel and then wandered about the convent garden area.

Indeed many shops were closing by about 6pm and some shop owners were... just nasty coz they wanted to close asap.

I really did enjoy walking around this area as there were a ton of things to see.
Some of the shops we entered into were Cambridge Satchel, Original Penguin and Cath Kidson.

We also walked to the seven dials area and it was such a pretty sight.

SOMEHOW we wandered into Chinatown and boy was that a big mistake.

My mum, deprived of asian food for the past few days, promptly saw a dumpling restaurant with a reasonable queue, marched over and plonked herself there and refused to leave the queue. Gentle suggestions to eat lobster rolls (EH LOBSTER LEH) proved to be.... worthless.

To be fair the food was good and a relief from the food in Paris. We are asians through and through LOL. Beijing Dumpling was the name of the restaurant. Completely not in my itinerary but was nice nevertheless.

There was also this ominous sign within the restaurant to be careful of our belongings even within the restaurant because snatch theft was very common in Chinatown.

We continued to wander around and got to see Leichester Square and the rest of Convent Gardens etc.

We were really thankful that all the eateries did not close so early and we spent time mostly looking at things to eat and looking to eat things lol.

We spent 20 minutes queuing for this Amorino Rose ice cream walao. As nice as it was 20 minutes was a little too long a wait in my opinion.

We also realised an old chang kee was opening in Convent Garden! But only open when we leave oh well haha.

We were getting some snacks and I passed by Paul (I think) AND THERE WAS THIS. HUGE. UGLY. BUT GLORIOUS LOOKING. MERINGUE.

And I had to get it. The pink ones on display were prettier but everyone was smoking and I wasn't keen on eating cigarette smoke soooo I asked for one that was kept inside the glass cabinet lol.

This made me happy each night it lasted. about 3 nights hahaha
